Anybody who wants to read good information about anorexia nervosa or other eating disorders, read the books written by Hilde Bruch. She was writing about this disorder probably long before Sandbek laid his eyes on the first pretty female anorexic. Those who wrote books after her were only (in my opinion) trying to capitalize and exploit a very disturbing disorder for their own personal gain.

Dr. Terry Sandbek:
Was he a doctor when I paid him for two group therapy sessions back in 1980 or 1981?
I remember back in 1980/81?, there was a male counselor by the name of Terry Sandbek who held evening group therapy sessions for those who were struggling with anorexia/eating disorders. I showed up at his class and quickly noticed I was the only male there. The rest were (in my opinion) pretty females. I felt so out of place being there. It even appeared the male counselor thought I was out of place because for the two sessions I showed up, he never focused his eyes on me at all and never made contact with me other than to thank me for giving him a personal check for the cost of the group therapy session.

Read above where Sandbek is being said to have mentioned (quoted) in his book that anorexics look Playboy-give me a _ucking break. I wonder if Sandbek recommends male anorexics to look Playboy too? Sorry, but that is something I am not willing to do!
Read the quotes below from Sandbek's book and see how he starts off his message about eating disorders:

If "the victims are female," then why does Sandbek refer to "males" in the above paragraph? Then Sandbek says "appears to be a female problem." If it appears to be a female problem, then why does Sandbek mention "males" in the above paragraph? Is he just rambling on as if to sound good? I had this female problem probably before most females in this world, and probably even before Sandbek heard of this disorder. It appears Sandbek only wants females to have this problem. What a clown in a doctors suit.
Read the last paragraph above where he states "Eating disorders are most prevalent in middle to upper middle-class families." In my opinion, it is his statement here that tells me why there are so many people like Sandbek, who got into the field of eating-disorder therapy, so they could make lots of money exploiting this problem knowing full well that the families involved had the money and resources, up front, to pay for the treatment.
Yeah Mr. Sandbek (doctor), the deadly diet basically appears to be a female problem. In my opinion, it is basically a female problem because people, like you, have made it a female problem and have exploited this problem as much as they can to earn a decent living and then make more money writing their dumb-ass books, like you, while letting it be known in certain ways written that they only want pretty upper-middle class starving females sitting across from them during therapy! Shame on any male for developing this female-only disorder.
And then Sandbek above states "Females have a better chance of recovery than males." I wonder why? Has Sandbek ever treated a male? And if so, what year between 1980 and 2010 did he treat a male?
The only books that anybody needs to read on eating disorders are books written by Hilde Bruch.
