Before I left the cottage I rented and moved to the Big Island, I took pictures of how I left the cottage on December 29, 2019. These pictures were taken around 4:30-5:30am because I needed to catch an early flight along with getting our cat Sunny ready to take the trip with us.
I thoroughly went through each room and made sure that it was totally cleaned. I cleaned walls, cabinets, sinks, tops of cabinets/refrigerator, etc. Everything was cleaned. I also changed out most of the window screens, and anything else I was able to do to make sure this cottage was in tip top shape. A couple of months earlier, I purchased and installed window blinds for most of the windows at my own expense and labor.
I paid rent for every month I stayed either one day or two days before the rent was due...every month the rent was due! There were many times I wasn't even staying in this cottage which saved him costs to his water bill.
As you will see by combing through the images of this cottage when I left, it was spotless.
Ed didn't return one penny of my deposit back to me as he claimed he had to do a "Deep Cleaning" and other repairs to the cottage.
What's interesting is that he had to replace the refrigerator, garbage disposal and parts to the tub/faucet while I lived there and never did he think it was necessary for him to blame me for those appliances/parts failing because of me. But when I decided to move out, a couple of weeks before he leaves to go skiing in Lake Tahoe, a day that I annually drive him to the airport to take his trip, he wants to blame me for the poor condition his electrical wall in the living room is and blame me for having to replace the old-run-down dishwasher I never even used that he should have replaced before I even moved in back in November of 2013.
The only way he could dishonestly justify not returning my security deposit was to think inside of his greedy head that in reality I should have been paying more rent in those years beyond my 2013 arrival...and therefore he was going to cook-up some phony repair claims in that perfectly cleaned oven/stove I left for him (or at least blame me for repairs) and add on other excuses on why I won't see a penny of my $1300 deposit I had coming back to me.
I GUESS ED NEVER EXPECTED ME TO TAKE PICTURES OF THE COTTAGE ON DECEMBER 29TH, BETWEEN 4 AND 6 AM.
BACK ON AUGUST 8, 2014, I SHARED WITH HIM MY WEBSITE ABOUT MY DEDICATION TO MY DAD, WHICH WOULD HAVE BEEN MY DAD'S 90TH BIRTHDAY...HAD HE STILL BEEN ALIVE.
I ALSO GUESS ED'S ARROGANCE TOLD HIM HE WOULD NEVER HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT BEING FEATURED ON IT.
HAPPY SABBATH ED.

When Ed asked me where did I get my car? I told him "I own it!" And this was the second time I had to provide this same answer when somebody made reference to me and my car.
The appliances I used when moving into this cottage and continued to use on a regular basis were still working in good condition when I moved out. The oven/stove...the washer and dryer...the microwave...the water heater...and they were old and outdated when I moved in. This cottage was built in 1987 and some of the appliances looked like they were that old.

Yeah ED, why didn't you blame me for the panel being blown off your cottage roof? You would have if it had blown off the day after I moved out!
